ETHANOL
NELLA distributes gasoline with ethanol, a cleaner burning, domestically produced product. NELLA Oil Company is a major investor in Calgren Renewable Fuels, a Pixley, California plant producing fuel from corn and supplying feed to cattle nearby in the San Joaquin valley.
Ethanol (also known as Ethyl Alcohol or Grain Alcohol, chemical formula CH3CH2OH) is a liquid produced mostly via fermentation and distillation processes from sugar and starch crop feedstock. Advanced processes for producing ethanol from agricultural, forestry and municipal wastes and residues are under development. Ethanol has been used in the U.S. as a gasoline octane enhancer and oxygenate since the 1970s when federal energy tax policy was enacted to encourage domestic production and use of this fuel.

BIODIESEL
NELLA supplies biodiesel to commercial and government fleets in the northern California and in Nevada. This domestically produced renewable fuel blend is the choice of many environmentally conscious corporations.
Biodiesel is a fuel for diesel engines derived from natural oils like soybean oil, and meets the specifications of ASTM D 6751. Biodiesel can be used in any concentration with petroleum based diesel fuel in existing diesel engines with little or no modification.
Biodiesel Blend is a blend of biodiesel fuel meeting ASTM D 6751 with petroleum-based diesel fuel, designated BXX, where XX represents the volume percentage of biodiesel fuel in the blend.

SOLAR
Commercial supplier Pacific Power Solar has upfitted 26 of our retail stations with solar electric panels to run the electricity in the store and at the pumps. These electricity-producing panels are connected to the local power company's distribution grid. The solar panels reduce the amount of electricity pulled from the power company. At some times of day the meter actually runs backwards as the solar panels use sunshine and put electricity back on the grid.
